Tips & FAQs

What should I bring to class?

Please bring your own yoga mat. We have a few to borrow if you are traveling but not enough for everyone. If you borrow a studio mat, be sure to wipe it down with the cleaner provided near the mats. Bring a water bottle if you wish but beverages are not allowed in the practice room. You can keep your water in the cubbies in the lounge.

How early should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts to check-in and set up your space. Classes start on time and doors are locked when class starts.

Do not arrive more than 15 minutes before class as there may be another class finishing up.

What is your cell phone policy?

Please be sure to silence your cell phones before entering the building. Think of this as a sacred space & the purpose is to separate yourself from the everyday distractions. Maybe even leave it in the car for bonus points.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of free street parking all around the studio. There are also two free parking lots - one  across the street and one right below the studio on the embarcadero. It might get busy during dinner time or weekends but parking is usually never more than a block away- and it’s all free!

Can I do yoga after eating?

It is best to do yoga on an empty stomach or at least one to two hours after eating. This varies depending on the style of yoga and the poses practiced but doing yoga on a full stomach is typically uncomfortable. A banana or light snack an hour before yoga can do the trick if you need to eat first.

I have a health condition. Can I still do yoga?

Many practice yoga for health management. Various class types cater to different needs and can be adapted for injuries. If you have a medical condition or injury and are new to yoga, consult an experienced yoga teacher or knowledgeable physical therapist for advice on poses or movements to avoid.
